The Emily Askew Band
Formed to fuse Emily's passions for Medieval and Renaissance melodies/songs and modern folk styles. Being an multi-instrumentalist playing vielle, shawm, bagpipes, recorders and medieval harp, Emily wanted to explore the possibilities of mixing these unusual sounds with modern instruments.
The band bring together singer/guitarist/fiddler Jamie Roberts (Gilmore Roberts, The Dovetail Trio), fiddler/viola d'amore playing John Dipper (English Acoustic Collective, Methera, Dipper Malkin, and Alma) and percussionist Louise Duggan (National Theatre, Regents Park Theatre, Shakespeare's Globe).

An exciting new medieval and Renaissance band emerging from London. From rhythmic foot tapping dance tunes to powerful interpretations of songs, their playing aims to engage and inspire those who hear them.
The musicians bring together a broad experience from both the early music and folk worlds performing on a variety of historical instruments including recorders, bagpipes, vielle, harp, oud and percussion.

Askew Sisters
Emily and Hazel Askew are fast becoming one of the most popular and respected duos on the English folk scene. From dark ballads to uplifting dance tunes, they play with driving energy and the unity of two people who have played together all their lives.
The sisters use fiddle, melodeon and concertina to breathtaking effect, creating cinematic arrangements that get to the very heart of each song. These create a perfect setting for Hazel’s striking voice, which won her Best Female Singer at the Spiral Earth Awards 2011.
